Our Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy
At Saberwars, the safety and well-being of children and young people under 18 is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where all participants feel protected and respected.
We are currently completing our Child Safeguarding and Protection training to further strengthen our safeguarding practices. This policy outlines our commitment to safety and the steps we are taking to protect children in our care.
Our Commitment to Safeguarding

- We are implementing robust safeguarding procedures to ensure all activities are conducted safely and responsibly.

Child Protection Officer (CPO)
Scott Taylor is the designated Child Protection Officer (CPO) for Saberwars. As the CPO, Scott is responsible for:
- Acting as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
- Ensuring all staff and volunteers understand and comply with our safeguarding procedures.
- Liaising with local child protection services if required.

Code of Conduct
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, everyone involved with Saberwars is expected to adhere to the following guidelines:
What We Expect
- Treat all children and young people with respect, dignity, and fairness.
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- Ensure all activities and equipment are safe and age-appropriate.
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the CPO.
What We Prohibit
- Any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment.
- Being alone with a child in a non-visible or non-public setting.
- Sharing inappropriate content, including images or messages.
- Failing to report a safeguarding concern.
Parental Consent
For participants under 18, we require written parental or guardian consent for:
- Participation in activities.
- Photography or video recording for promotional purposes.
To ensure the safety and understanding of all parties, parents or guardians must complete and sign our waiver before their child participates in any Saberwars activities. This waiver outlines the terms of participation, safety measures, and permissions.

We are committed to continuous improvement in safeguarding. We will regularly review and update our policy to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
